Have you been inspired to learn how to make naturally fermented food, but just don’t know where to start? This is a hands-on class that will teach the why’s and how’s of this ancient food preservation technique. Learn the health benefits of fermentation as well as the differences between canning and fermentation. Together, we will make fresh salsa and sumptuous sauerkraut. In addition, this class will teach how to make kombucha, a bubbly drink that contains beneficial probiotics and amino acids. Students will leave with recipes, jars of salsa and sauerkraut as well as started kombucha. All supplies will be provided. Bring a small box to carry your jars home at the end of the class.
